Dr. Price attended high school in Van Buren, Arkansas. He completed his undergraduate degree at Southern Nazarene University then proceeded to University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed his residency with the Garfield County Medical Society. He has served rural Oklahoma via emergency medicine first at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid and then in Ponca City Emergency Department. Dr. Price has been with Fairview Regional Medical Center for 15 years during which he has provided OB, primary, and emergency care.

Dr. Price lives on his farm with his 2 yorkie girls, a bunch of black cows and one horse. He has two children, one son and one daughter. He is the grandfather of 1 granddaughter and 2 grandsons. Recently, he became a great grandpa with the birth of his great granddaughter. Dr. Price enjoy working around his farm, camping, and fishing. He loves the Lord and loves taking care of his patients.

Dr. Price works tirelessly to see that the needs of patients and staff at FRMC are met. He serves as Chief of Staff, oversees the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation department, and supervises 3 midlevel providers. He is always available for consultation (without complaint) for the midlevel providers on call. He uses these calls to educate the young providers so that they too may grow to be solid rural health providers. Dr. Price still admits his own patients to the hospital, despite the available hospitalist, and to the neighboring nursing home. He says that these are “his patients” and he feels that he should care for them. Dr. Price is also known for checking on his coworkers. He regularly rounds the departments of the hospital and clinic just to say “hi’ and see how everyone is doing. If you are having a bad day, he is quick to respond with a compassionate or motivational comment. And he will be back later to check on you.

Dr. Price has a real understanding of rural community living and the barriers it can create to receiving quality medical care. He understands things like farmer’s needing to be seen early in the morning during harvest so they can return to their fields. Or why they can’t/won’t return for tests during this time. He adapts the care he provides for his patients so that they can continue to provide for their families and get the quality care they deserve. He lives in and loves his community.

Dr. Price is known to say, “just do the right thing for your patient” and he truly practices what he
preaches.
