Qualifications

    • Must have current active license by Oklahoma Board of Nursing
      • RN preferred, LPN considered
    • Must have current BLS certification.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations.
    • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
    • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous responsibilities and to prioritize scheduling of work.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information.
    • Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.

    • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner. This can include anger, fear, hostility& violence of others.
    • Ability to be able to follow orders and document in EPIC in appropriate areas.

    • Encouraged to take ACLS & PALS within the first year of employment if not already certified.
    • Lead regular clinic meetings and in-services.
    • Attend all facility required meeting.
    • Attend the monthly QC meetings.

    Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

    • Working irregular hours including call hours.
    • Exposure to blood and body fluids, blood borne pathogens, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation (x-ray/electromagnetic energy), potential electric shock.
    • Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.
    • Mostly inside work w/ good ventilation and comfortable temperature.
    • Requires mostly standing and walking and approximately 40% sitting.
    • Manage stress appropriately.
    • Handle multiple priorities.
    • Make decisions under pressure.
    • Work in areas that are confined and/or crowded.

    III. Duties:

    Job Summary

    Under direction of the CNO, and/or Provider, care for all patients in the clinic and anywhere else required in the Facility. Demonstrate ability to lead and utilize the appropriate resources, administer correct medications, assist with treatments/procedures and the use appropriate supplies to care for the patient. Following all policy & procedures of FRMC.

    Essential Functions

    • Promote the mission, vision, and values of FRMC.
    • Adherence to policies and procedures of Hospital.
    • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Nursing Department.
    • Oversees the daily operations of the clinic and its staff
    • Carrying out doctors’ orders promptly and accurately
    • Responsible for:
    • Supervision of clinic nurses & receptionist.
    • Pouring and administering medications.
    • Documenting accurately information, medication, and observations in EPIC/EMR.
    • Acknowledging orders of doctors in EPIC/EMR and properly transcribing medications and initiation of medication or treatment.
    • Keeping and adequate supply of medicines available.
    • Keeping doctors notified of changes in patient condition.
    • Responsible for sharing responsibilities in OSIIS with other clinic nurses.
    • Completes work assignments in a timely manner.
    • Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
    • Uses and maintains equipment properly.
    • Assists visitors with directions whenever requested.
    • Always introduces self to patients, families, and visitors.
    • Supervision of workers and assignment of patients
    • Supervising treatments in the clinic.
    • Regular attendance medical staff meetings & facility required meetings.
    • Available for duty in case of disaster.
    • Take verbal orders and telephone and put into EPIC/EMR.
    • Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
    • Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
    • Replenishes supplies.
    • Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions, and isolation precautions.
    • Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties.
    • Works day hours and some Saturdays as needed.
    • Ability to do work on his/her own with normal supervision.
    • Observes safety precautions at all times.
    • Maintains age specific safety precautions.
    • Do SQSS daily (beginning and end of shift) and training for SQSS as required.
    • Attends all EPIC/EMR training as required.
    • The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
    • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, training’s, current literature, in service meetings and workshops; shows responsibility for own professional practice and ongoing education.
    • Cooperate with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives, maintain good employee relations and interdepartmental objectives.
    • Responsible for the hiring of new staff members as well as the discipline and termination when necessary.
    • Manages the completion of staff competencies
    • Engages in ongoing feedback with clinic staff regarding the effectiveness of staff members in their roles.
    • Creates provider, nurse, and receptionist clinic schedules ensuring complete staffing coverage in conjunction with patient care needs
    • Leads monthly clinic staff meetings
    • Address patient complaints
    • Maintains accurate and up-to-date policy and procedure manuals for the Rural Health Clinic, Specialty Clinic, and 340B Program.
    • Gathers and compiles clinic data as necessary to maintain compliance with certain programs and regulations.
    • Responsible for vaccine inventory management and storage and handling compliance.
    • Completes annual evaluations for clinic nursing and reception staff.
    • Participates in annual clinic review of services.
    • Coordinates all vaccine clinics (Flu, Hep B, Covid).
    • Resolves inter-departmental issues as they arise, working closely with other department managers and administration.
    • Monitors all Quality Improvement initiatives for the clinic and assists other departments with QI initiatives as they involve the clinic.
    • Oversees development and implementation of new clinic programs and/or services.
    • Communicates all pertinent information to clinic providers and staff as necessary.
    • Serves as primary point of contact for 340B program.
    • Serves as backup to clinic nurses or receptionists as necessary.
    • Assists staff in complete reporting of all clinic incidents and occurrences.

    AGE OF PATIENTS SERVED:

    • All ages are served at Fairview Municipal Hospital including:

    Neonate/Infant –      Birth – 1 year

    Child/Pediatric –        1 – 11 years

    Adolescent –              12 – 17 years

    Adult –                         18 – 64 years

    Geriatric –                  65 years +v
